Te Awanga Downs in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand is a 1,000-acre sheep and beef property that has been farmed by Chris and Marki Nilsson and their four sons since 1978.

Today, Chris and Marki's second son, Matthew is responsible for running the farm business while his brothers pursue very different city lives. However the bonds remain strong and all share a passion for the ongoing well being of Te Awanga Downs.

Chris's new career as a professional rowing coach has taken the couple to all parts of the world, including two years spent in Great Britain with the Oxford University Boat Club and at Princeton University in New Jersey, USA. Chris was the assistant coach to the US Olympic rowing team for four years and is now is back in New Zealand coaching the country's Men's Elite Team.

The family home is now a rural retreat where people come from all over the globe to enjoy peace and relaxation with family and friends.
